His involvement and contribution to Indian National Congress were very much remarkable. He travelled nationally and internationally to take forward India’s freedom fight. During such a phase, he fell ill and was to be hospitalized but did not survive. His dead body was brought to Mumbai through sea-route in a coffin. The coffin is kept as the memories of Vithalbhai Patel at our Memorial.
