Dear friend & patron,

Celebrating the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel through an unique, immersive walk-through exhibit

We are all familiar with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the ‘Iron Man of India’ who fought for India’s freedom and later led our newly independent country towards national integration.
Yet very little is actually known about his journey – from son of the soil to ace lawyer, a Satyagrahi to national leader and statesman. In his home state of Gujarat, several museums/exhibits dedicated to him provide us with ample information of his life and achievements, but they are by and large linear narratives, leaving us wondering who really was this man – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel?.
At Sardar Patel’s native place, Karamsad, we, the Trustees of Sardar Patel Trust (“Trust”) are setting up an experiential exhibit that would enable us to gain insights into his persona in the light of his invaluable contributions.  What makes this initiative special is multi-media content – scenography, audio-visual, lighting and effects – that visitors walk through  in historical time and space to engage individually with the story of Sardar through headphones in three languages.
The project has already commenced work in July 2021 and is slated to be completed by the end of 2022. Once completed, we envision that a wholesome portrayal of this towering personality who defined the very boundaries of our beloved nation will serve as inspiration to future generations, particularly students. Sardar Patel personifies the ideals and values of a person committed to serve his country with dedication, integrity and courage.
Of the total project cost of Rs.6.50 Crores, the Trust has been endowed with a grant of Rs. 3.00 Crores from the Government of India and is now seeking valuable contributions from civil society and corporate India to successfully complete this vision. On behalf of the Trust, we urge corporates and fellow Indians to come forward and contribute towards this great cause of preserving our country’s rich history and the legacy of her freedom fighters like our beloved Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

We sincerely hope you will extend your enthusiastic support to this initiative and donate generously to the Trust.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,
Ashok Patel
