Ahmedabad Municipality

Became a member of Ahmedabad Municipality for the first time. Elected as the Chairman of the Sanitary Committee. Succeeded in cancelling the appointment of an English officer as the Municipal Commissioner. Presided over the first meet of the Gujarat Regional Executive Committee at Godhra. Started agitation against bonded labour.
