Bombay Legislative Council

Vithalbhai Patel was elected in Bombay Legislative Council in 1912 and in Imperial Legislative Council in 1918. He was elected as the Mayor of Bombay Municipal Corporation during 1923 to 1925. In 1924, he was elected as a member of Indian Legislative Assembly, Delhi and not only became the first Indian to be the Speaker of the assembly but also was elected as the Speaker for second consecutive time.
