Veteran Industrialist J.V. Patel and former Finance and Home Minister (Govt. of India) H.M. Patel played a vital role in the establishment. H.M. Patel believed that Vithalbhai’s contribution should not be allowed to be forgotten and therefore a combined memorial of Veer Vithalbhai Patel and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was raised at Karamsad in the year 2000.  The Government of India and the Government of Gujarat provided generous help for the construction, which counts to Rs. 2.5 crores.
